"I have family in New Jersey, Florida, Haiti, Canada, New York, many Caribbean countries, many South American countries, many European countries, many African countries, many Asian countries, etc..."
-Mackenzy Samedi aka Mackenzy The Poet
"At first, when I took the Ancestry Test for $100, it told me that my ancestors were from over 15 ethnic regions. That part was confusing! When it didn't know anything about me and nothing about any of my family members, it told me that I was 89% African, 10% European, and 1% Asian. As soon as I started filling out the answers, it started changing the answers to both African and European countries, and it said that I was no longer part Asian. Due to this experience, I no longer trust these Ancestry Test companies. Here is right here: the Results of everything that is my Ancestry: Haitian, British, Dominican, African, and Polish. I found out through research and asking questions. That's what I would recommend anyone trying to find out their ancestry. If the test was trustworthy, how come it failed to mention that I was also part Dominican and part Polish? The only missing part of my ancestry results is the African part, which I don't have and don't know any specific location or country in Africa that my ancestors came from on the African continent." - Mackenzy The Poet
My First Name: Mackenzy = Son of a Wise Leader. Originated from England. It's a British name. My father gave me that name. My father is really a wise leader. Many people are always coming to him for advice. But I don't want to be just be, a son of a wise leader. I want to be a wise leader, too.
My Last Name: Samedi = Saturday in French. When you pronounce it, you say it with a silent e. In other words, you don't pronounced the e in Samedi.
My Paternal Grand-Father: My grandfather on my dad side was half British and half Dominican. He was born in the Dominican Republic. He took after his mother's color, if you know what I mean. He inherited a lot of wealth, and then he migrated to Haiti. I don't know why he came to Haiti. My paternal grandfather had so many different children all over town. He had two boys with my grandmother on my dad's side but did not marry her. That's one of the reasons why she was pissed off and gave the boys her last name. That's how my family has her last name. After my grandfather died, the children were fighting for different property, land, wealth, etc. They split among themselves and did share anything with my father. Instead of fighting back, he back down and quietly went back to the United States.
My Maternal Grand-Parents: Both grandmother and grandfather on my mother's side were half Polish and half Haitian. They were both born in Haiti. I don't have any Polish features because when interracial marriages happen, then anything can happen. The children could look like their mother, dad, in the middle, or whatever God feels like giving the (father and mother). That's just a little bit of the story. Yeah, the Polish did help fight for Haiti's freedom from the French. I know how important it is to leave in peace. The mansion or peace: I used to live in a mansion in Cabaret, Ouest, Haiti, with my mom's aunt, who took her in because she was wealthy. My mom's parents had a lot of children, which means that she has a lot of siblings. That was one of the reasons why my mom's wealthy aunt took her in. My mom voluntarily left the mansion with me to go live with my grandmother on my father's side in the same city of Cabaret, Ouest, Haiti. It was either live in a big mansion and always wonder when death will strike or live somewhere smaller place, but in peace. We left the mansion, remember. My mother was not going to try to wait to find out if she was going to try again to kill me or her or both of us at the same time. That was because one of my mother's sisters tried to kill us. It was one of many of my mother's sisters. Yes, I remember this. We were coming from a midnight service from church. When we got home, I told my mom that I was tired and I wanted to lie on the bed. She stopped me, and she turned on the lights. Guess what was spread all over the bed? It was a white powder called "Poud Maji," which is "Magic Powder." She did this because of jealousy because my mother was the favorite in the mansion. Thank God that He gave my mother the wisdom to stop me, not to lie on that bed. God has been sparing me and saving my life from death ever since birth.
*Remember I told you that my grandfather had so many children all over town! Well, many of them moved to other countries and inter-marry other cultures. That's one of the reasons why I may be related to all cultures. I am waiting for all of these people who are going to say: oh, I am your uncle; I am your cousin etc; when I am wealthy and become more famous in New Jersey, all over the United States and all over the world. If we do a DNA test, it might be true and comes out that I am related to these people, but my questions are; where were you when I was in the woods? Where were you when I was at the bottom? Where were you when I was sick? Did you call me? Did you text me
My Ancestry: Haitian, British, Dominican, African, and Polish.
My Place of Birth: Cabaret, Ouest, Haiti
My Nationality: Haitian American
