Confrontations With...

Saturday, September 12, 2025: A while ago, I had a little confrontation with the owner of D'Italia Restaurant in Avenel on the phone.

So, I ordered a carrot cake. The girl who answered the phone allowed me to spilt the bill between partial credit and cash when it was delivered.

While eating, I saw that they spelled my name wrong. So I called to fix my name and ordered French fries this time. This time, the bill was $10.50. I only had $10, I asked the guy if I could give some in credit and the rest of the cash when it is delivered, and he said no. I looked in the house for missing money. So, I borrowed $1 from my sister's purse, and I informed her that I would be paying her back.

I called again and the girl answered again, she was very nice. I ordered the French fries that I wanted. More than 30 minutes passed, so I called again, asking if they had forgotten about me. He was so rude. He said that the driver had another delivery and I asked if they had forgotten about me. This time, he changed the rules, saying next time there is a $15 dollar minimum. He did not curse at me. It was the tone of his voice, and he hung up the phone on my face after he was done talking so quickly. When the driver got there, I gave him his cash, which included a tip both times. I informed the driver that the girl who answered the phone was nice, he is a good delivery driver; but the guy was rude. That's when he informed me that the guy on the phone was the owner, and he must have been having a bad day. I said that he didn't have to be so rude.

It seems like all a lot of people care about is if you have money or they don't want to give you the time and day. I am a regular customer. Whatever happened to long-term customer relationships?

The carrot cake costs $6.95. The French fries cost $6.95, also. The girl told me $7. something. He said that the $10.50 included delivery. How the heck did he come up with $10.50 when I was paying all cash this time? Let me remind you that the time when I was missing the .50 cents, before all we got to this point, he was asking if I had any money and how I was paying for all of this. Wow, man! It's just French fries! The $1 from my sister's purse was to cover the .50 cents that I didn't have to add to the $10.00 that I had.

I don't know why he thinks that I am poor. Maybe my voice and/or my last name appeared on the debit card that I used for partial payment the first time.

My disability debit card, which is full of money, arrived in the mail on Tuesday this week. Thank GOD!!

Yes, disability from my recent accident. Not from Social Security. I am not messing with them. Left a bad taste in my mouth.

What did they do to you?

That's messed up. It's like the Social Security Department wants people to stay poor. They took away my SSI because they said I saved too much money in my bank account. They made me return some of the money. Although it was many years ago, I never forgot.

That is all very sad facts. The thing that is messed up is the fact I showed them receipts of all positive and survival items that I brought with a lot of the money. I brought things such as: a car, suits, pants, shirts, shoes, sneakers and etc... I should have saved most of the leftover money in another bank.

I will not participate in the civil war either like you. That's not my fight unless I have to defend myself. Don't attack the beehive, and the bees won't have to strike back.

My Social Security situation happened many years ago. Last time, I was denied Disability, because they didn't believe that I had a mental disability.

This time, it is a physical disability. This time, I was approved!!!

I have no particular feelings toward the Charlie Kirk situation. My heart has grown cold.

Is AM radio going out of business in cars?

I helped keep AM radio in cars by voting to keep them alive a few years back. I sent my concerns to Tom Kean and Cory Booker. But I heard that the same issue has come up again recently in 2025. This time, I am not doing anything.

I get that depression is a mental health crisis, which happened to me a very long time ago. Thank God, I am not experiencing it anymore, but is bipolar actually a mental health issue? If my family and therapist think I am crazy for not being afraid to express my feelings, then I guess I'm really bipolar. Don't we all have good days and bad days? Aren't we all bipolar in some way?

Why do your parents and therapist think it is a problem that you express what you really think. I had the same problem when I was very young. I was told not to always say to people what I truly think. That I should get along with people, tell them what they want to hear. Be a diplomat. But I was never a politician by nature.
Perhaps I should have taken their advice. I would have a better employment record and not have destroyed relationships with people.

Currently, the name is: Haitian American Restaurant Plus LLC. The name change might be better because the current name might scare people. The reason being, you already know how Haitians are a target right now. It used to be Jews, Japanese, Italians, etc, but now it's Haitians. It may not be as intense in New Jersey as it is in other states; but if one immigrant is attacked, then I take it personally.

That's not how it was back in the past. Now, people love Haitians. Lol
